A small electric motor having a housing made of a longitudinal part which accommodates permanent magnets and two side parts for accommodating a rotor, the longitudinal part of the housing (1) consisting of two longitudinal metal sheets (3, 4) which are arranged opposite one another and screen the rotor (10) and the width of whose blank corresponds approximately to the diameter of the rotor (10), the longitudinal metal sheets (3, 4) being of convex construction with longitudinal sides arranged parallel to one another and accommodating the permanent magnets, which rest flat against their insides, flush with the longitudinal sides. <IMAGE>
