Digital correction of movement in static scintigrams - using gamma camera for static acquisition to lessen movement blurring structures

A process is described for the assimilation of static scintigrams that have been corrected in respect of their movement. This requires a gamma camera, to which a digital input computer is attached, whose operational storage records at least 2 to 4 pictures with the desired resoltuion of the definitive scintigram. Static scintigrams are accumulated sequentially in many short chronological intervals subdivided into one or several intermediate data stores. At the end of the relevant chronological interval the picture from these stores or store is added to the total picture gathered from all intermediate pictures that have been added up to that time so that the focal points of the intermediate and total picture coincide. With this, physiological movement in an organ under examination, as well as undesurable shifts in the patient are compared. USE/ADVANTAGE - Improves resolution of static scintigrams. Reduces image distortion caused by movement in liver and osseous thorax.
