A kitchen unit in which a sink (5) and an open-topped housing (9) of a diswasher (7) are disposed alongside one another and depend from a common frame (3). In use, the frame is mounted upon a worktop (1) with the sink and the housing extending downwardly below a cut-out section (2) of the worktop. The sink, housing and frame may be formed as a single moulding of thermoplastics material. Alternatively, only the frame and the sink or only the frame and the housing may be formed as a single moulding, or the frame, sink and housing may be formed separately. The dishwasher housing has a hinged lid (11) which serves as a draining and/or working surface when closed. |
