<p>An electronic centre-finder for a machine tool comprises of body (1) with a collet head (2) at end and an elongate shaft (7) fixed near the collet head (2) and free to flex in the body (1). A probe (10) is mounted on the other end of the shaft (7) and a transducer arrangement is arranged to detect flexure of the shaft (7) in two dimensions and give an output, preferably in X and Y co-ordinate form, which allows adjustment of the position of the work-piece (6) to align a work position (a centre) with the tool-holder.</p> |
