Faulted current indicator (2,4,6,8). Apparatus and method for observing the status of faulted current interrupters for high voltage transmission lines are described. Light emitting diodes (2,4,6,8) powered by a photovoltaic voltage source (44) are used to identify interrupters which have been tripped.
