PURPOSE:To reduce the working load and to improve the reliability with an automatic system producing system by discriminating automatically the constitution of a channel and an I/O device of a data processing system to form said producing system. CONSTITUTION:When the system production is required after application of a power supply, a system producing part 7 is first started. Then the part 7 calls out a standard channel detecting part 8 and a constitution information discriminating part 9 and obtains the information on the types of a standard channel and an I/O device. In other words, the part 8 scans an address space allocated to the channel in order to detect the physical position of the connected standard channel and gives an access to each channel. In this case, if a channel is included in the channel received an access, the information on the standard/ nonstandard types is given in reply from the channel. Then the part 8 informs the address of the channel that answered a standard type to the part 9. The part 9 reads out a channel ID and a device ID to obtain the desired items of constitution.
