The invention concerns a multi-storey structure 1, especially a multi-storey car park, which is built around a supporting steel shell and in which the aim is to provide good ventilation for preventing collapse of the steel shell in the event of fire. According to the invention, an air gap 21 is arranged between at least some of the floors 6-8 of the building and at least the outer wall or outer walls 2-5 of the building which are without ventilation openings 20, in order to permit an effective flow of air in the building 1 in the event of fire.
