PURPOSE:To enable stable knocking detection by providing a noise level updating means which inputs the output of a variation width decision means and updates a noise level when variation width is larger than a specific value. CONSTITUTION:The vibration value of the engine which is detected by a knocking sensor 1 is inputted to a noise level calculating means 2 to calculate the noise level. Then a knocking decision level calculating means 3 finds the knocking decision level from the noise level calculated by the means 2. Then a knocking decision means 4 inputs and compares the outputs of the means 3 and sensor 1 with each other to decide whether or not knocking occurs. Here, the means 2 detects the output of the sensor 1 at each specific sampling period, the variation width decision means 5 decides whether or not variation from a last detected value is larger than the specific variation width, and the noise level updating means 6 updates the noise level when the variation width is larger than the specific value. Thus, the knocking is stably detected. |
