There exists a device for squeezing out a toothpaste tube 19 comprising an end piece 20 and a mouthpiece 21. In this case, it is desired to be able to convey toothpaste out of the toothpaste tube onto the bristles of a toothbrush in a simplified manner using only one hand. This is achieved in that a clamp 24 for clamping the flat end piece 20 and suspending the toothpaste tube 19 is provided, in that a pair 16 of rollers for receiving the toothpaste tube, pressed flat in the nip 17, on a carriage 15 is provided, the carriage being movable along the toothpaste tube 19, and in that said carriage 15 is attached to a guiding and driving device 14, 13, 6 which comprises a drive 6, and in that a control device 2 is provided, which has a sensor for detecting a toothbrush at the mouthpiece 21 and switching on the drive 6 for outward travel, a timing element 11 for switching off the outward travel after a period of time and a switching element 12 for switching on the drive 6 for a return-travel movement. When the bristles of the toothbrush are brought close to the mouthpiece, the sensor sets the drive in operation, with the result that toothpaste flows out of the mouthpiece onto the bristles of the toothbrush. <IMAGE>
