PURPOSE:To control production of torque, with pulsation thereof being suppressed, based on a torque generation characteristic where influence of higher harmonics and magnetic saturation is considered by obtaining measure ment data for only one phase of an n-phase reluctance motor. CONSTITUTION:Only phase (a) of a three-phase reluctance motor is excited with DC current, thus operating the reluctance motor 4 and measuring torque pattern to be produced. Then supply current pattern for phase (a) is calculated from the torque pattern and stored in a pattern table 2. Thereafter, a torque command value tau* and a position gamma detected through a rotor position sensor 4a are read out thus calculating supply current (ia) corresponding to the torque command value tau*. Furthermore, supply current (ib) is calculated by shifting the position theta by 2pi/3 and supply current (ic) is calculated by further shifting the position theta by 2pi/3. Thus calculated supply currents (ia), (ib), (ic) are fed to the reluctance motor 4. |
