A valve is proposed for the intermittent introduction of fuel, particularly gaseous fuel, into an intake pipe of an internal combustion engine, which is provided with an electrically actuatable valve element (12) arranged in a valve housing (10). The valve is designed as a slide valve with an essentially cosine-shaped metering motion, a metering duct (25) being provided which opens only after a predetermined proportion of the metering motion from a rest position of the valve element (12). In this way the control edges are very rapidly passed over, resulting in a rapid rise or fall in the quantity of fuel injected. This results in a good approximation to the ideal curve which corresponds to the curve of the induction air quantity. ……
