A clamping sleeve (4) for mounting between a bore in one part (1) (e.g. a bearing race) and a shaft (3) is in screw-thread engagement with the bore, the flanks (5, 6) of the screw thread being inclined at a small angle ( alpha ) with the axis of the shaft; axial loads on the screw threads being balanced by loading through one or more oppositely-inclined mating-conical faces (7, 8), whose inclination (ss) is less than 45 DEG to the shaft-axis. |
