SWAY MONITOR

A sway monitor for clinical use having two or more ultrasound transmitters (1A, 1B) and associated receivers. Rapid pulses of ultrasound are directed towards a subject (2) whose swaying movements towards or away from each transmitter are assessed by measuring the time taken for the reflected beam to be detected. The data may be continuously analysed and stored by means of a computer system (17) and/or recording equipment.
