<p>Traction apparatus comprises a proximal bracket plate support with two parallel locating spokes and a distal support complete with traction pins adjusting at their distal ends plus two threaded traction rods which link the two supports for mutual adjustment. The proximal support (1) locating spokes (5, 6) should be in a plane normal to the plate bracket (4) and the distal support (27) consists fo a holes (29) plate (28) at right angles to the proximal bracket (4). The plate has grooves diametrical to its holes and the holes contain additional traction rods (16-19) via brackets (31) for angular and lengthways movement. The distal ends of the pins (25) are secured to the proximal ends of the additional rods. The carpal bones are located by the spokes and stops (5, 6) in the brakcet using washers and nuts (7, 8). The pins (25) are led through the distal ends and held here by stops, (26) after appropriate osteotomy, and the distal pin ends secured via nuts (24) to the traction rods (16-19) and thus to the distal plate (14). The rods can be adjusted as required by means of their holding brackets (31).</p> |
