PURPOSE:To efficiently desorb and recover Tl from a cation-exchange resin having adsorbed Tl by adsorbing Tl on the cation-exchange resin from an aq. Tl soln. and recovering the adsorbed Tl with an aq. alkali hydroxide soln. as the eluent. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. of thallium is brought into contact with a cation- exchange resin to adsorb the thallium on the resin, and the adsorbed thallium is eluted and recovered. An aq. alkali hydroxide soln. is used as a solvent in this method. The aq. thallium soln. has to contain at least thallium to be recovered, and may contain the metals other than thallium. The concn. of the aq. alkali hydroxide soln. is normally controlled to >=1% and preferably to 5-40%. Besides, the aq. soln. contg. other salts can also be used. |
