PURPOSE:The titled composition, containing an unsaturated polyester resin, a vinyl ester polyurethane resin, copolymerizable therewith, and having a specific structure and a vinyl monomer, and having improved adhesion and reduced shrinkage. CONSTITUTION:A coating composition prepared by incorporating (A) an unsaturated polyester resin (the unsaturated polyester resin, having urethane bonds in the molecule, and containing nitrogen) or a vinyl ester resin (usually consisting of an epoxy resin and a copolymerizable monocarboxylic acid) with (B) a vinyl ester polyurethane resin, expressed by the formula (R<1> is H or CH3; R<2> is a residue from an organic diol; X is a residue from a hydroxyl-terminated saturated polyester resin and an organic polyisocyanate), and copolymerizable with the component (A) and (C) a vinyl monomer copolymerizable with the component (A), e.g. styrene, as essential components, and if necessary an antioxidant, pigment, etc. |
