PURPOSE:To eliminate fogging at the time of forming metallic images and to obtain the sufficient metallic image forming speed and image strength even in high temp. rapid processing by an automatic developing machine by incorporating specific catechol precursors into a photosensitive photographic element. CONSTITUTION:Either or more of the catechol precursors expressed by the formula I or the formula II are incorporated into the photosensitive photographic element. In the formulas I, II, L<1> to L<3> denote the same or different bivalent functional groups having such an effect that the bond with O is cut when subjected to hydrolysis under an alkaline condition of pH>=10, X<1> to X<3> denote the same or different monovalent groups. The catechol precursors incorporated into the photographic element act on the processing liquid to increase the speed of forming the metallic images and to allow the formation of the secure metallic images having excellent printing resistance. |
