NEW MATERIAL:The compound TAN-1139 having the following physical and chemical properties. Melting point, 110+ or -5 deg.C; molecular formula, C8H11PO4; ultraviolet absorption spectrum, lambdamax=226+ or -3mm (E =536+ or -50) in methanol; appearance, colorless crystal; specific rotation, [alpha] =-7.3+ or -3.0 deg. (c=1.0 in methanol); elemental analysis (%), C 41.10, H 4.74, P 12.99; color reactions, positive to concentrated sulfuric acid. potassium permanganate and molybdic acid reactions; solubility, easily soluble in chloroform, ethyl acetate and acetone and soluble in water: nature, neutral substance; etc. USE:An acetylcholine esterase inhibitor. PREPARATION:A microbial strain belonging to genus Streptomyces such as Streptomyces sp AI-2005 (FERM BP-2262) is cultured preferably at pH5.5-7 and 24-30 deg.C for 48-120hr. |
