PURPOSE:To prevent effectively the degradation of images due to toner scattering, by limiting the corona discharge region due to a transfer charger by a guide member and guiding the transfer material to the discharge region after bringing the transfer material into contact with an image carrier. CONSTITUTION:A guide member 3' is provided in the transfer material coming side near a transfer caharger 4 and guides a transfer material 2 to an image carrier 1 while receiving the back side of the transfer maaterial 2 which is not brought into contact with the image carrier 1. The tip of the guide member 3' limits the corona discharge region of the transfer charger 4. A position C where the transfer material 2 is brought into contact with the image carrier 1 is in the side of transfer material coning more than a position B where the image carrier 1 intersects the line connecting a discharge wire 5 of the transfer charger 4 and the tip part of the guide member 3'. Thus, since the transfer material 2 is entered to the corona discharge region after being brought into contact with the image carrier 1, toner scattering for transfer is prevented. |
