A method of feeding and conveying a copying paper (16A) in a copying machine (10) provided with a driven optical system (34), a paper feeding means (17) and with at least two pairs of conveying rollers (20,21) on a conveying passage (19) of said copying paper prior to the transfer station (14), characterised in that the paper feeding means (17) and said conveying rollers (20,21) are driven so that the position of the leading edge of said copying paper (16A) is corrected by contacting said leading edge of said copying paper with said at least two pairs of conveying rollers while stationary, each pair causing a deflection (T1,T2) of said copying paper.
