A holder (2) on the main spindle (1) of a machine tool carries interchangeable pallets (3), pallet chucks, pallet-clamping systems or alternatively various adjustable chucks with jaws. The pallets (30) or chucks are held on the holder (2) by clamps, such as collets (4) distributed at the periphery, and a serrated ring (7) on the pallet underside (3) is pressed in a serrated ring (7) of the holder (2) for transmitting the drive torque. Spring assemblies (5) keep the clamps closed. In the change position, push rods (8) which move out of the headstock compress the spring assemblies (5) in the holder (2) so that the clamping force is neutralized. A simple mechanical position indicator (9) for the open and closed position of the clamps can be provided in the form of a signal pin (9), firmly connected to the clamps, in the holder (2) and limit switches (10) in the headstock. During the change operation for relieving the main spindle, a closed power flow is achieved inside the clamping system as a result of projections (11) on the holder (2) and undercuts (12) on the machine. …<IMAGE>… |
