<p>PURPOSE:To provide the color filter for liquid crystal display having good heat resistance, light resistance and transparency and the process for producing the color filter by dispersing pigments at a high degree into a specific acrylic resin. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a transparent substrate is coated with colored resin compsns. essentially consisting of the acrylic resin, org. dyestuffs, dispersants, and solvents to form the colored filter layers by each color to desired pattern shapes in an arbitrary number of colors. The monomers expressed by the general formulas I to III are used as the monomers constituting the acrylic resin. The acrylic resin is a copolymer having the compsn. ratios consisting of 5 to 30pts.wt. formula I, 15 to 35pts.wt. formula II and 35 to 80pts. wt. formula III. R<1>, R<2>, R<3> are H or CH3 and n is 0 to 4 integer. While the additive dyestuffs include dyes and pigments, the pigments are more preferable in terms of the heat resistance and light resistance. Derivatives which have a substituent in the org. dyestuffs and are effective for dispersion in the dyestuffs are used for the dispersants.</p> |
