PURPOSE: To attain the remote control of different types of equipment by storing the formatted data and command bit patterns of plural devices in different categories in an non-erasable fixed memory. CONSTITUTION: An equipment to be controlled is selected by a category switch 32. A keyboard 36 is an addressable 3×11 matrix, and it is used for the direct entry of a device to be controlled. Entry data are stored in an RAM 44. A microprocessor 10 receives data from the selector device. An address is transmitted to a bus 18, and an address latch 20 is enabled, and it is stored. Time adjustment is operated by the microprocessor 10, and the address is impressed from the latch 20 to a bus 22, connected with the signal of a line 24 from the microprocessor 10, and impressed to an address decoder 26 and an EPROM 16. The decoder 26 enables a selection line, and the output enable line of the EPROM 16 is enabled. Data from the EPROM 16 are transmitted to the microprocessor 10, and an IR driver circuit 29 is energized. Thus, the remote control of a different equipment can be attained.
