The syringe and needle assembly comprises: - a syringe plunger barrel (4), one end of which defines a male end-piece (6), - a needle (2) equipped with a female end-piece (8) capable of cooperating with the said male end-piece (6), and - a protective cap (3) designed to cover the said needle (2). The assembly is characterised in that: - the male end-piece (6) is designed to break under the effect of a slight shearing force, and in that - the geometry and the respective sizes of the outer wall of the female end-piece (8) and of the inner wall of the zone of the cap (3) adjacent to its open end (12) are such that they permit the penetration of the said end-piece (8) into the said cap (3) with, at the end of its forced travel, a blocking of the said zone of the cap on the female end-piece (8), by virtue of which, after a first use of the syringe, the cap (3) is locked on the end-piece (8) and exerts a shearing force which breaks the end-piece (6). The needle (2) remains trapped in the cap (3) and cannot be recovered; as regards the syringe, deprived of the end-piece (6), it can no longer be equipped with a needle. <IMAGE>
