SHIELDED CAPACITANCE STANDARD This invention relates to a capacitance standard for use with capacitance sensitive probes. The standard comprises a capacitor having a pair of spaced plates and a dielectric positioned therebetween. A shield attached to one of the plates forms an enclosure around the other plate to essentially shield the capacitor. The capacitance standard is therefore not affected by outside electrical fields and an accurate, reproducible capacitance value is provided.
