NEW MATERIAL:A lactitol monohydrate crystal having a molecular formula of C12H24O11.H2O, melting point of 102-105 deg.C and an analysis diagram of crystal structure by X-ray expressed by the figure. Besides, said substance has following physicochemical properties: element analysis (%): C 39.6, H 7.3, and O 53.1; molecular weight: 362.3; specific rotatory power: [alpha] =+14.1 deg. (containing 0.1g in 1cc water); solubility: solubility in water at 25 deg.C is 55%; color: colorless, transparent crystal; dissolving properties: readily soluble in water, 0.1 N NaOH and 0.1 N HCl, soluble in methanol, hardly soluble in ethanol and insoluble in chloroform or ethyl acetate, etc. USE:Sweetening agent having low calorie. PREPARATION:The aimed crystal is precipitated from aqueous solution of lactitol (preferably purity of lactitol is >=95wt.% per solid) preferably at 20-70 deg.C. |
