In a motor-vehicle door check which can be mounted independently of the door hinges and of which the door-holding rod formed by a sheet- metal blank interacts with a torsion-bar spring supported in a holder housing formed from a folded sheet-metal blank, the shank of the torsion-bar spring is supported on the side walls of the holder housing by means of a bearing shell made of maintenance-free self- supporting material which bridges the holder housing and which is secured to this against movement in both the axial and the radial direction. ……
