The invention relates to a bridge-plate punching machine with a punching carriage that can be moved along a guide track of a bridge supported by preferably two pillars, over a punching table with a punching platen, that has a rotatable punching plate and a punching tool which is fixed to the punching plate, and that is vertically adjustable by means of a height adjustment device. In order to automate and make more efficient the punching process on a bridge-plate punching machine, the invention envisages that the punching plate should be designed as a turntable or as part of a turntable and as such should be rotatable with in each case at least one section of the latter, under the bridge.
