PURPOSE:To improve the flexibility and the reliability of a system by storing all mounted programs in a ROM and coupling and executing a patch program on a RAM from an arbitrary position of mounted programs by a program counter controller. CONSTITUTION:A mounted program 5 is stored in a ROM 2 to obtain a high reliability for single event error. The flow of execution is finely changed from an arbitrary address of the mounted program 5 in the ROM 2 to a patch program 29 of a RAM 3 by a program counter controller 14 to reduce the patch program 29 in the RAM 3 to a minimum required capacity. Thus, reprogramming is possible only with minimum reduction of the reliability, and a high flexibility of the system is obtained.
