PROCESS FOR PREPARING PYRIDYL ALKYL NITRATE COMPOUND

Pyridylalkyl nitrates of formula (I) and their salts are prepd. by reacting a cpd. of formula (II) or its reactive deriv. with a nitrating agent. In the formulas, Ra1= H, lower alkyl or hydroxy (lower)alkyl; one of Ra2 and Ra3 is mono- or dihydroxy (lower)alkyl and the other is H or halogen; R1 is H, lower alkyl, halogen or nitroxy (lower)alkyl; one of R2 and R3 is mono- or dinitroxy (lower) alkyl and the other is H or halogen. (I) are vasodilators, useful for treatment of coronary insufficiency, angina pectoris or myocardial infarction.
