PURPOSE:To improve the dispersibility of a magnetic paint compsn. for magnetic recording media contg. ferromagnetic metallic powder by using nitrocellulose of specific degrees of polymn. as a binder in sais compsn. CONSTITUTION:A paint compsn. for magnetic recording media prepd. by compounding 5-30wt% nitrocellulose of 10-30 average degrees of polymn. as a binder together with a suitable org. solvent with prescribed ferromagnetic metallic powder and ferromagnetic metallic alloy powder. An antistatic agent, a lubricant, polishing agent, a curing agent, etc. are added according to need to said compsn. The compsn. has excellent dispersibility and provides excellent surface smoothness and orientation ratios to magnetic recording media. |
