PURPOSE:To facilitate the formation of the recording medium to a larger area and to improve workability by forming the recording medium of side chain type high-polymer liquid crystal compds. of a polysiloxane system and low- molecular liquid crystal compds. of a benzoate system which are respectively specific. CONSTITUTION:The recording medium which uses a change in the orientation state of liquid crystal molecules for information recording is formed of the compsn. consisting of one or >=2 kinds selected from the side chain type high- polymer liquid crystal compds. of the polysiloxane system expressed by formula I and one or >=2 kinds of the low-molecular liquid crystal compds. of the benzoate system expressed by formula II. In formula I, m denotes 1 to 20 integer; n denotes an arbitrary positive integer. In formula II, R denotes 1 to 20C alkyl group. The information recording medium which allows the formation of the liquid crystal element having the larger area, allows the easy writing and erasing of the response speed to external stimuli and has excellent memory stability is obtd. in this way. |
