PURPOSE:To obtain an optical waveguide of small loss by pouring a transparent resin having a low refractive index into a transfer mold having plural grooves at equal intervals to form a substrate having plural ribs and pouring a transparent resin having a high refractive index between ribs of the substrate and coating this substrate with a transparent resin having a low refractive index and solidifying this resin. CONSTITUTION:Liquid resin materials 3 having a low refractive index are packed in a transfer mold 1 having plural groove parts 2 by a squeegee 4 or the like. Resin materials 3 are irradiated with UV light and are hardened to obtain a substrate 3a having ribs 3b. Liquid resin materials 7 having a high refractive index are packed in spaces between ribs 3b by the squeegee 4 or the like and are hardened with UV. Liquid resin materials 3 having a low refractive index are coated on ribs 3b and resin materials 7a by the squeegee 4 or the like and are hardened with UV to form a resin material 3c having a low refractive index, thus obtaining an optical waveguide 8. Then, the resin 7a having a high refractive index forms a core, and the resin 3a having a low refractive index around the core forms a clad, and light 9 made incident on the core within a prescribed angular aperture goes in the core while being totally reflected and is emitted. |
