A vehicle, in particular the chassis of a bridge inspection device with a frame (1) and road vehicle wheels is disclosed. In order to obtain a vehicle that can be quickly and easily converted in a working chassis with increased stability, a hydraulically sprinborn axle unit (3) and at least one non-resilient auxiliary wheel (7, 8) mounted in front and/or behind the axle unit (3) has a hydraulic device (4, 5) linked with the suspension system for lowering the frame (1) from an upper position, in which the suspension is operational, to a lower position. The auxiliary wheel (7, 8) is lifted off the roadway in the upper position of the frame (1) during transport and lies on the roadway in the lower working position of the frame (1). Supporting (6) rollers useful as slow driving means can be arranged above the wheels of the axle unit (3). |
