A sound-absorbing wall has round uprights (10) between which walls elements (1) extend. Each wall element (1) consists of a metal frame (2) which surrounds a sound-absorbing inner part (7) consisting of a solid panel covered on both sides by mats (17) made of fibrous material which in turn are covered by external metal meshes (18), preferably of expanded metal. The upper part (3) of the frame (2) is polygonal and convex and the lower part (4) of the frame is polygonal and concave, so that the wall elements can be assembled vertically or at a given angle to each other, and the parts of the superimposed frames engage by interlocking, to form a wall comprising a vertical part which merges into a horizontal part at the angular junction between the wall elements. The wall elements (1) displaced in this way are fastened to angled uprights (10) by means of metallic ties (12) which surround the uprights (10). The ties (12) have hook-shaped ends which engage in the frame (2) of the wall elements, and a closed hook (14) which can be compressed by a clamp, like a pipe clip. When the closed hook (14) is compressed, the ties (12) are shortened. |
