Paved surfaces have to be sanded to consolidate the paving. The sanding has previously been carried out manually by means of sweeping brushes or towed mats or nets. In this case, the sand is insufficiently worked into the gaps between the paving stones. With the apparatus, according to the invention, for sanding paved surfaces, these disadvantages are avoided and a simple and thorough mechanical sanding is achieved. The apparatus has, under a mounting plate (3), a rotary element (11), rotatable about a substantially vertical axis of rotation by a motor (9), with brush strips (12) attached therebelow (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
