<p>A pin tumbler lock comprising a shell (1) with cylindrical hole, a cylindrical plug (2 min ) fitting within said hole of said shell, said plug (2 min ) being rotatable by key means, said plug (2 min ) having first bore means (4) for receiving first pin tumblers (6 min ), said first bore means (4) being substantially normal to the axis of the plug (2 min ), said shell (1) having second bore means (5) for receiving second pin tumblers (7 min ) therein, said second bore means (5) being aligned with said first bore means (4), first pin tumblers (6 min ) in said first bore means (4), second pin tumblers (7 min ) in said second bore means (5), and means in said shell for moving said second pin tumblers (7 min ) into said aligned first bore means (4) to thereby prevent rotation of said plug (2 min ), said first and second pin tumblers (6 min , 7 min ) having substantially mating surfaces at their points of contact, characterized that said plug (2 min ) comprises two grooves (14, 15) normal to the axis of said plug (2 min ), one groove (14, 15) on each side adjacent said first bore means (4), and said first and second tumbler pins (6 min , 7 min ) mate at least partially within said grooves (14, 15) in the plug (2 min ), thereby providing a non-linear shear line between said plug (2 min ) and said shell (1).</p> |
