摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To supply and store electrostatic charges in a picture element even if several thin film transistors (TFTs) are, for example, short-circuited and to reduce picture element defects due to short-circuit defects by connecting TFTs to each picture element in series. CONSTITUTION:Picture element electrodes 22 corresponding respective picture elements and TFTs 20a and 20b connected to each picture element electrode 22 are arrayed in a matrix on an insulation substrate. Then the TFTs 20a and 20b are switched according to the signal from a scanning electrode and charges are supplied from a signal electrode to the picture element electrode 22 through at least >=2 TFTs 20a and 20b. Thus, the TFTs 20a and 20b are connected to each picture element in series, and consequently even if several TFTs 20a and 20b are, for example, short-circuited, the charges are supplied and stored in the corresponding picture element electrode 22 through remaining TFTs 20a and 20b which operate normally.</p>
