The closing device comprises a housing (1) with inlet orifice (2) and outlet orifice (3). In this housing is arranged a rotary slide valve (4) for interrupting the passage of free-flowing and pourable material. The slide valve permits the outlet orifice to be closed in a gap-tight manner and at the same time prevents material from passing through the inlet orifice. The slide valve has a closing piece (5) which can be rotated about an axis running approximately perpendicularly to the axis of rotation of the slide valve. The closing piece interacts with the valve seat of the outlet orifice. A pressure spring (10) is arranged at a distance next to the axis of rotation of the closing piece, between the closing piece and the slide valve. When the slide valve is moved, the pressure spring effects a certain rotation of the closing piece without requiring a drive. ……
