摘要 PURPOSE:To amplify a laser beam stably without any distortion by a method wherein a window member is formed of a plano-convex lens, a convex side of the lens is made to face outside, and a liquid cell is oscillated to enable a focal point to be located always in the liquid. CONSTITUTION:A phase conjugator is formed of a cylindrical liquid cell 1, where one end of the cell 1 is sealed up with a plano-convex lens 3, the other end is sealed up with a planar window member 5, and the cell 1 is filled with normal hexane 6. A protrusion provided to the edge of a pulley 13 revolved by a motor 12 is linked with a protrusion provided to the side wall of the liquid cell 1 through an arm 11 so as to make the liquid cell 1 constituted as above oscillate in the direction vertical to its axis, the period of the oscillating is set to an optimal value by adjusting the speed of revolution of the motor 12. And, a laser beam outputted from a laser oscillator 14 is amplified by a amplifier 15 and made to be incident on the phase conjugator 10. A phase conjugate wave occurs through the incident beam in the phase conjugator 10, which is projected in the direction directly opposite to the incident direction, amplified by the amplifier 15, and outputted as an output beam 16.
