PURPOSE:To control the timing of opening and closing of valves with a simple arrangement, by swinging rotating members for slidably holding tappets, around cam shafts. CONSTITUTION:Tappets 13, 13' slide in fitting holes 14a, 14a' formed in a rotating members 14, 14' which are rotatable around cam shafts 10a, 10a', and therefore transmit the movement of cams to valves 5b, 6b. The rotating members 14, 14' are swung by a drive device 19 in association with the running condition. Due to variations in the swinging angle of the rotating members 14, 14', the lift timing of the valves with respect to the crank shaft is changed to control the timing of opening and closing of the valve. |
