The apparatus comprises a hollow body (10) for conveying a gellified composition and a nozzle (20) for injecting a propelling fluid such as compressed air. This nozzle and this body are arranged so as to create for example a venturi for generating turbulence. The gellified composition having a viscosity of the order of 300000 cP at the inlet, emerges from the apparatus with a temporary apparent viscosity close to that of water and fills the case. Application to the filling of sealed lead battery cases, the preformed and precharged plates of which are bathed in a gellified electrolyte based on sulphuric acid and on silicic acid.
