Level control device for vehicles with a pneumatic spring system

In known level control devices, the pneumatic springs of each side of the one axle and the pneumatic springs of the other axle together can be connected to the pressure medium source or to the atmosphere. As a result, it is possible to execute even level movements which virtually only occur when a vehicle-symmetrical load distribution occurs. The new level control device is intended to permit all customary level changes which occur during practical operation to be compensated with a lower degree of outlay. The valve device (6, 8, 9) has two-way valves (8) and (9). By means of the directional control valve (8), on the one hand, an inlet (10) of one pneumatic spring subsystem (2, 3) and on the other hand an inlet (11) of the other pneumatic spring subsystem (4, 5) can be connected to a pressure medium source (1) or to the outlet to the atmosphere (7). By means of the directional control valve (9), it is possible to connect on the one hand the pneumatic spring (4) of the one side of the vehicle and on the hand the pneumatic spring (5) of the other side of the vehicle of the other pneumatic spring subsystem (4, 5) to its inlet (11). The level control device is suitable for all vehicles with pneumatic springs. <IMAGE>
