In order to create a plastic secondary coil former of an ignition coil for ignition systems of Otto-cycle engines with a high-voltage contact element, mounted thereon, in the form of a plastic high-voltage dome, which coil former can be manufactured and assembled cost-effectively, it also being intended to achieve good electrical functional reliability, it is proposed that the secondary coil former (1) and the high-voltage dome (2) be constructed integrally, from plastic. <IMAGE>
