The facsimile apparatus comprises a detecting part, sheet carrier mechanisms, and a cutter. The sheet carrier mechanism includes clutch bases (47, 54) attached to shafts (41a,42a), clutch springs (48,55) wound on both sides of the clutch base and pulley, pulleys (46,53) connected with a pulley of a driving motor, and a cutter (61) connected with a link plate (58) and link bars (59. 60). When the driving motor is rotated in reverse direction, power of the driving motor is transmitted to the cutter via the spring clutch and power transmission means.
