PURPOSE:To eliminate uneven coating of paper and enhance the quality of coated paper to be manufactured by applying liquid to a backing roll before guiding the paper. CONSTITUTION:A coating material feeding device 13 is installed in contact with a paper 12 by a backing roll 11, and a coating material is applied to the paper 12 by said coating material feeding device 13. Then, liquid 18 such as water or the like is applied to the backing roll 11 before guiding the paper 12. As a result, the coating material can be prevented from adhering to the backing roll 11 and coating waste can be prevented from clogging a cleaning doctor 16 to eliminate the uneven coating to the paper and enhance the quality of paper. |
