<p>A DNA fragment having a promoter action is isolated from a genomic DNA of a virus related to fowl pox virus (FPV) and its base sequence is determined. An efficient manifestation of an exogenous gene in a host cell becomes possible by introducing a chimera gene formed by joining the DNA having a promoter action with an exogenous gene into a host cell. Furthermore an infective recombinant pox virus which manifests an exogenous gene efficiently by homologous recombination can be obtained by introducing a recombinant plasmid comprising a chimera gene inserted into the DNA region derived from the pox virus into a cell infected with the pox virus. The present invention thus makes it possible to mass-produce vaccine in a stabilized manner.</p> |
