<p>In a security system for an automotive vehicle having a hood ornament (30), the system includes an ornament body (40), an ornament base (32) wherein the ornament body rockably resides, an anchor (34) for retaining the base to the vehicle, a switch (42) mechanically interconnected with the ornament body, and an alarm (12) for announcing if the ornament is being manipulated.
