PURPOSE:To prepare a resin compsn. for an optical material excellent in heat and humidity resistance, mechanical strengths and optical homogeneity and with a small birefringence by blending a specific arom. polycarbonate with a specific polystyrene deriv. CONSTITUTION:90-50 pts.wt. arom. polycarbonate copolymer of formula I (wherein R<1> and R<2> are each H, 1-6C alkyl or phenyl; and p and q are each 0.01-0.99, and p+q=1) having a number-average MW of pref. 10000-100000 is homogeneously blended with 10-50 pts.wt. polystyrene deriv. of formula II (wherein n is 0.01-0.2, and m+n=1) having a number-average MW of pref. 10000-30000. |
