PURPOSE:To appropriately detect the reproducing time of a particle collector by measuring the exhaust gas pressure applied to an exhaust passage located on the upper side than the particle collector to estimate the quantity of particle collection. CONSTITUTION:In a Diesel engine 1, air is sucked from an intake manifold 2 in a combustion room and exhaust gas is discharged into atmosphere through an exhaust mainfold 3, an exhaust tube 4, a particle collector 5, and an exhaust tube 6. A control device 19 outputs a signal having an optimum duty ratio to the measurement valus of an engine load sensor 20 and an engine rotation sensor 21 attached to a fuel jet pump 7 to a load controlling valve 17 to control a suction stopping valve 8 and reproduce the particle collector 5. The reproducing time is decided by measuring exhaust gas pressure aplied to an exhaust passage located on the upper side than the particle collector 5 with a pressure sensor 22 and discriminating whether the measured pressure exceeds a prescribed comparison value fixed in accordance with the rotational frequency of the engine. |
